About Hampton Roads
Welcome to the area information section for the Hampton Roads area.  When considering what home to buy, the community can be as important as the property.  This section will help you learn more about our beautiful area and all it has to offer.  There are seven (7) cities in the Hampton Roads area: Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach.
ChesapeakeLocated along the Intracoastal Waterway in the heart of Coastal Virginia, Chesapeake is a city rich in history and natural wonders.
HamptonPartially bordered by the Hampton Roads harbor and Chesapeake Bay, Hampton is located in the center of the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. Hampton is the site of America's first continuous English-speaking settlement and is home to a variety of historical, cultural and recreational activities and attractions.
Newport NewsLocated on the banks of the Hampton Roads harbor in southeastern Virginia, Newport News is minutes from Williamsburg and a short drive to Virginia Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. From this central Coastal Virginia location, you can experience ships, history and the great outdoors.
NorfolkTwo major regional shopping malls are located in Norfolk, and the waterfront offers Waterside Festival Marketplace with revitalized places to dine and enjoy entertainment, too. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy fishing, boating and surfing in the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay.
PortsmouthLocated on the western side of the Elizabeth River directly across from the City of Norfolk. There is a ferry boat that takes riders back and forth across the water between Downtown Norfolk and Olde Towne Portsmouth.
SuffolkThis area hosts a diverse combination of industrial, manufacturing, distribution, retail, and hospitality businesses, as well as active farming.
Virginia BeachAs a premier resort area, Virginia Beach offers numerous recreational, historial and cultural opportunities. For the outdoor enthusiast, Virginia Beach offers sportsfishing charters, SCUBA and snorkeling, surfing, sailing, biking, hiking, wildlife watching, and just hanging out oceanside.
